Maintenance Technician

Description:
Nesco has a direct hire opportunity for an Electrician with a residential or commercial background to work in a manufacturing environment. Some mechanical aptitude as it relates to machine maintenance is a preference.

Run conduit, pull wire, panel wiring, replacing breakers.



ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Follow all safe workplace practices, comply with all applicable safety and health rules, and actively participate in safety programs.

  • Read and interpret schematic drawings and documentation and initiate revisions when applicable.

  • Follow daily work activities schedule to meet maintenance objectives. Estimate materials and time needed to complete activities to ensure completion of tasks.

  • Install, maintain and repair secondary electrical systems, such as but not limited to, general wiring, lighting and communication systems.

  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot power equipment systems.

  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot rotating equipment, motor drives and associated control systems.

  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot stand-by power systems and associated equipment.

  • Maintain and operate test and measuring instruments and equipment to determine functional operation of electronic and electrical systems.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation devices and associated systems.

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance as established by maintenance program.

  • Maintain documentation to record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, and tests.

  • Communicate with other departments to identify and troubleshoot equipment problems.

  • Trains and provides subject matter expertise to Industrial Electricians.

  • Responsible for immediately reporting any safety, quality or plant security issues to management for appropriate action

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers.

  • Function as a self-starter with the ability to work independently.

  • Detail-oriented and organized, able to work in a fast-pace environment and meet deadlines.

  • A demonstrated ability to prioritize, follow through, and manage multiple projects.

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and instructions which are posted in English
















ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE


  • High school diploma or GED

  • Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) in Industrial Technology or similar field; or completion of recognized apprenticeship as maintenance; or equivalent work experience or vocational training is preferred.

  • 4 plus years of relevant maintenance experience.

  • Knowledge of basic instrumentation and calibration, preferred.

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferred.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers

  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferred.

  • Electrical Certification preferred.

  • Ability to work flexible days and hours to support business needs
