Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - Level 2
Description
Designs and oversees the plant or manufacturing systems, fabrication, installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment such as conveyor systems, production machinery, and other material-handling equipment used in fabrication, assembly, and other production functions; analyzes engineering sketches, specifications and related data, and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts; oversees the construction of machine and sub-assemblies considering such specifications as gear ratios, bearing loads, and direction of moving parts; compiles and analyzes test data to determine effect of design on machines in relation to factors such as temperature, pressures, speed, horsepower, and fuel consumption.
Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory:

• Familiarity with ANSI/ASME Y14.100 or similar design and drafting standards • Experience with Catia V5 or similar 3D parametric modeling and drafting • Perform detailed drawing checks and be responsible for completion of production ready drawings • Ability to work under little or no direct supervision • Demonstrated previous success working in a team based environment to meet objectives • Active DoD secret clearance
Desired:

• Any familiarity with C-130 aircraft, specifically C-130J • Air Force or DoD experience • Experience or familiarity with engineering change documentation • Experience with Teamcenter PLM software
