Aviation Parts Purchasers - Addison, TX

Description:
STS AeroStaff Services is currently hiring Aviation Parts Purchasers for open positions in Addison, Texas.

Job Duties:

• Source and select suppliers, negotiate pricing, award contracts for purchase of aviation parts
• Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently, and all order statuses are updated daily
• Prepare purchase order / sales order packets for Purchasing Manager
• Inspect and correctly identify incoming parts, ensuring correct certification accompanies parts being received
• Ensure proper identification and organization of inventories, keeping inventories at acceptable levels to support fleet
• Ensure materials are properly issued to specific aircraft for work in progress and to shop for component rebuilds
• Approve/Authorize payment of invoices for parts
• Maintain storage areas in a clean and orderly manner; recommending improvements to make areas safer
• Verifies all packing slips against purchase orders and forward to A/P
• Interfaces directly with A/P where price discrepancies exist between the purchase order and invoice
• Reports all major or consistent price discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager
• Assists Warehouse Manager with solicitation of bids, review of pertinent data and negotiations
• Interfaces directly with department managers in relation to procurement to establish needs
• Communicates with all departments in relation to requisitions and orders that are in progress
• Perform other related duties and assignments as required

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years’ of experience in purchasing
• Experience in an aviation purchasing is preferred
• 2+ years’ processing inventory
• 2+ years’ with current software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent attention to detail, must maintain discretion when working with confidential information, and have the ability to recognize errors and make corrections

Education & Experience:

• A&P License
• 3+ years’ experience in heavy line maintenance of transport category aircraft, preferably DC-9/MD-80 series
• Familiarity with FAA 121/145 regulations

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

• Prolonged sitting at personal computer
• Prolonged exposure to outdoor environment: heat, humidity, cold, damp
• Prolonged use of telephone
• Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, pushing and pulling equipment and/or parts
• Prolonged standing and kneeling in awkward positions
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds overhead
• Flexible, irregular schedule
• Travel as necessary (about 20% of time)
