Mechanical Drafter (Solidworks)

Description:
TriMech Services is an engineering resource provider specializing in the placement of qualified technical candidates for both temporary and direct hire opportunities. TriMech Services offers a unique approach to matching the specialized skillsets of our candidates to the engineering specific industry.

Our client in the Butler County area is currently for a SolidWorks Drafter. This individual should possess the ability to create new drawings and revise existing drawings using SolidWorks and other AutoCad programs. The ideal person may have a unique mix of fab shop experience and professional drafting experience.

Responsibilities:

Create detailed fabrication drawings and erection drawings using SolidWorks or AutoCAD

Complete projects from conception to final completion independently

Be familiar with structural concepts and practices, drafting standards, symbols, and engineering terms.

Develop, prepare, and maintain complete Bills of Materials for each product being manufactured, including job specific BOM’s for custom products.

Suggest changes in design, materials, method of manufacture and assembly, and drafting techniques to improve product quality, cost, and performance.

Work with other departments to ensure drawings convey the correct information and for problem resolution and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

1-3 years of experience in CAD design required. (steel service center experience preferable)

Familiarity with reverse engineering and the associated measuring tools preferred.

Experience with 3D scanning technology and Geomagic Design X software is a plus.

Education:

Assoiate degree in Computer Aided Drafting or related field required.
