Computing Security and Information Protection Specialist (Secret)

Description:
**Secret Security clearance is required to start.**

Conducts independent comprehensive assessments of the management, operational, and technical security controls and control enhancements employed within or inherited by an information technology (IT) system to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls.

Uses data collected from a variety of cyber defense tools to analyze events that occur within their environments for the purposes of mitigating threats.

Performs assessments of systems and networks within the closed network environment or enclave and identifies where those systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.

Analyzes the security of new or existing computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs and provides actionable results.

Develops and conducts training or education of personnel within cyber domain.

Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study. DoDD 8570.1 IAM level 1 certificate such as a CompTIA Security+, CAP, GISF, GSLC or above is required.
