CNC Programmer

Description:
Essential Job Functions:
This CNC Programmer will generate CNC programs offline for 5 axis milling machines. Also critical to this role is process engineering, cutting tool design, and shop floor support.
Primary responsibilities include:

• Develop machining strategies related to produce part in the most effective process.
• Create and modify offline CNC programs
o Turbosoft and RCS Cam Software experience nice to have
• Validate CNC programs
o Siemens NX and Vericut experience nice to have
• Data management utilizing a PLM Software
o Siemens TeamCenter experience preferred
• Output and edit output code to run automatically on requested work center.
• Create setup and supporting documentation to adequately instruct factory personnel on the loading and execution of automated manufacturing method.
• Organize and plan work effectively to produce output according to budget and schedule constraints.
• Specify and design cutting tools used in the machining process
• Troubleshoot machining results and work holding issues with production personnel to optimize manufacturing process.

Qualifications
• AS in Machining Technology or related experience
• Minimum 3 years experience as an offline CNC programmer
• Proficient in cutting tool design and specification
• Knowledge of feed and speed calculations for optimal material removal rate.
• Open to learning new software including Turbosoft, RCS, NX Cam Simulation, Vericut, and TeamCenter.
• Proficient reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Proficient with GD&T both ASME Y14.5 1994 and ASME Y14.5 2009 requirements.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Must be able to communicate effectively with manufacturing engineering, precision inspection personnel and shop floor employees
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
• Power Generation or Aerospace background preferred
