Process Engineering Specialist

Description:
** Candidates must be U.S. Citizens without Dual Citizenship **
** This is a Temp-to-Hire position. If the selected candidates perform well they will be converted to direct employees **
** Candidates must be able to interview in-person at their own expense if not local **

Duties:
40% - Provide in-process technical guidance to production assembly and test processes. Disposition discrepant hardware. Resolve hardware constraints.
10% - Provide process technical expertise to support product design reviews and manufacturing/supplier readiness reviews.
10% - Analyze performance drivers, and lead project team(s) to implement processing efficiencies to achieve performance/cost targets, utilizing Lean manufacturing tools.
10% - Define assembly and test process specification requirements. Document lessons learned and best practices into assembly and test standard work instructions and manufacturing planning. Develop and provide technical training to technicians.
10% - Maintaining tooling and work center readiness (calibration, preventative maintenance plans, Foreign Object Elimination).
15% - Utilize process input and output characteristic data (statistical process control, as applicable) to drive process improvement and process control to achieve cost of quality targets. Perform relentless root cause analysis and lead project team(s) to implement corrective and preventive actions.
5% - Identifying, reporting, and eliminating unsafe acts & unsafe conditions within assembly and test work areas.

Skills:
1. While performing the duties of this job, employees will be working in a Class 100,000 clean room.
2. Minimum required PPE includes steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and clean room smock.
3. Experience with mechanical assembly methods, tools, and processes (including threaded inserts, lockwire, safety cabling, bolt stretching, lock washer installation bearing / bushing installation, bellville springs).
4. Experience handling, maintain, resorting critical sealing surfaces.
5. Experience dispositioning hardware and performing root cause analysis.
6. Experience using electronic planning and reading electronic drawings.
7. Strong analytical and communication skills (written and oral) are required, along with the desire to work in a collaborative team environment.
8. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to organize and complete projects, objectives, and tasks.

Key Focus:
1. Precision Assembly
2. Torque Wrenches
3. Fastener Lube/Safety wire
4. Pressure and Leak testing (Single and multi zone)
5. Process and safety improvements
6. Corrective action investigations and implementation
7. 100 class clean room or better experience
8. FOD/FOE

Desirable Qualifications a plus:
1. Experience working with pneumatic pressure systems to perform leak testing using mass spectrometer/bubble soap solution.
2. Training or experience utilizing Lean manufacturing tools (Kaizen, VSM, 3P, manufacturing std work, process matrices, P-Q analysis).
3. Six Sigma or equivalent statistical process control training/certification.
4. Experience working in a Class 100,000 clean room (smock/gowning required).

Education:
1. Requires Bachelors degree in an Engineering, Industrial Technology or related technical discipline and 9 years of related experience working in a manufacturing environment (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
