Job Summary:

This person will be responsible for performance reporting for the Tech Ops Department (Maintenance and Engineering). While experience within aviation engineering departments is not required, this person must be very analytical and understand how to pull data, analyze it, make it consumable for stake holders, identify trends and make suggestions based off this data to leadership. This resource will pull data from the maintenance system on a data basis. They will look at data around operational occurrences such as delays and cancellations of flights. This resource will be working in multiple databases, pulling very large amounts of data and putting this into reports, using primarily Tableau and Altryx. The ideal candidate would be someone who is good with math and has a very analytical mind. They should demonstrate experience being able to organize data and understand how to create groups and identify drives (Prado Charts), adding this up to tell a story. This resource will sort, analyze and make data make sense. This will be someone who is experience at bringing insights from data, not just pulling numbers, but they have to be able to identify trends and key factors and make suggestions based off these. An example of a large report that is run on a daily basis is the Morning Call. This report pulls data and looks at system wide how many aircraft are not ready to go and determining of the ones that are not in uses, where there issues lie – is it mechanical, interior issues, parts daily, a failed check, etc. Other reports look at specific factors such as how many engine spares do we have at a certain maintenance base. Another report looks at the previous days performance yesterday and what delays and cancelations we took and analyzes this data to determine what the key drivers were (EX: what are the top 5 things that made us not on time yesterday? Was it interior issues, tires breaks, check running late, special inspection for bird or lightning strike, etc.?) Candidates should have displayed experience working with Analytical tools. Some tools being utilized in the group include Hyperion S-Base, utilizing SQL to pull form data sources, Tableau and Alteryx. They have some existing reports in SQL that are automated, so SQL is not a must have. Someone that has experience automating reports or working in data visualization tools such as Tableau is highly desired.

Job Duties:

• Collect and prepare data from across multiple systems for analysis of departmental performance metrics.
• Provide follow-up/additional detail to stakeholders in regards to analysis and findings.
• Develop graphs, verbal descriptions, and slide presentations of data and analysis for both routine and ad hoc reports.
• The position will require working cross-functionally with all Technical Operations work groups (Engineering, Planning, Production, Reliability, etc.).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent experience (minimum 3-4 years’ as business and/or performance analyst).
• Minimum 3-4 years’ analytical experience, involving significant experience of data manipulation and analysis.
• Minimum 3-4 years’ of using a range of software including databases and spreadsheets (i.e. Tableau, Cognos, Altryx, Access, SQL, etc).
• Experience with performance measurements including qualitative assessments and quantitative methodologies.
• Possess high proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Minimum 3-4 years’ analytical experience, involving significant experience of data manipulation and analysis.
• Must have the ability to work cohesively with others as part of a Team and possess a positive attitude.
• Must have excellent organizational, team-building and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and able to perform to a high level of work quality expectations.
