PDS Tech is seeking a Crew Station Design for an open position in Shelton, CT.
Responsibilities to Include:Develop and design menus, logic and display graphics in a multifunction glass cockpit Pilot Vehicle Interface (PVI) or coordinate design activities of suppliers. Assume responsibility for PVI designs and coordinate with people of various disciplines in an Integrated Product Team environment that requires flexibility and diplomacy. Coordinate evaluation of designs in simulation, take ownership of design approval, and produce configuration-managed specification documents for software requirements developers. Support hot bench, ground, and flight testing of finished product. Secondary duties may include design and development of air vehicle Crew Station Geometry and layout of controls and displays to accommodate full anthropometric range of expected users. Evaluate Crew Station Design and layout in physical and/or electronic mockups, simulations and air vehicles
Required: - MS/MA in Human Factors, Experimental Psychology, or related degree - (BS Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering or equivalent with Human Factors coursework will be considered) - Experience with Part Mission or Full Mission simulation of Pilot Vehicle Interface designs - Rapid Prototyping tools such as VAPS® or equivalent - Basic Office and database management software (word processing, Power Point, Excel, drawing tools, etc) - Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
Desirable: - Experience in military aviation (helicopters in particular). - Rational ClearCase, or equivalent configuration management tool. - Experience with Human Modeling tools such as Jack® or equivalent. - Experience with 3D modeling tools such as CATIA®, ProEngineer® or equivalent
