Quality Engineer

Description:
Primary Responsibility:
Work directly with our customer, providing technical support as they conduct source inspection of product prior to shipment.
• Field customer questions relating to product being inspected.
• Review product, and research drawings and specifications in order to answer questions.
• Review any discrepancies identified by the customer. Confirm or refute findings based on the technical data.
• Interface with Program Engineering personnel as necessary to address technical issues.
• Interface with Program Quality and Inspection personnel to ensure that appropriate actions are taken to address confirmed findings.
• Assist in root cause investigations.
• Assist customer with product handling as required.
• Interface with program team members to provide/receive information.
• Attend meetings with program team and customers.
• Customer personnel may be foreign nationals. Communication of technical data is restricted and may constitute an export.
- Provide written technical summaries for communication via approved channels.
- Maintain a log of all issues and results for communication via approved channels.
• Provide program metrics to management.
• Help apply lessons learned to other programs.
• Provide reports and feedback to management.
Secondary responsibilities include:
• Warranty evaluation
• Distribution center process auditing.
• Collecting and analyzing data.

Experience Preferred:
Basic Qualifications
• 5 years minimum practical work experience in aerospace quality or engineering
• 3 years minimum experience with quality control methods and techniques, in relation to aircraft components and parts, including knowledge of the following:
• Dimensional inspection, including GD&T and inspection methods.
• Drawing/Blueprint and Specification Interpretation
• Quality assurance provisions and appearance of special processes (for example, shot-peening, welding, plating, coating).
• Manufacturing processes.
• First article, in-process, and final assembly inspections.
• Destructive and nondestructive inspections.
• Airworthiness assurance.
• Implementation of quality control systems and procedures, especially AS9100.
• Testing procedures.
• Use of FAA-approved type design data.
The qualified individual must:
• possess effective interpersonal skills.
• be able to work equally well independently or with a team.
• be able to balance and prioritize their workload effectively.
• possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• possess effective problem solving skills.
• possess basic computer skills, including experience using MS Office, and the ability to quickly learn to use custom company software.
• possess a command of the English Language - spoken and written.
