Electrical Systems Engineer

Electrical Engineer-Direct Hire



Burlington Area

Base Salary 110k-130k 

 

  • Provide technical leadership and serve as a leading individual contributor to the concept, design, development, and test of system modules and integration, including electro-mechanical and electro-optical interfaces

  • Test, evaluate, troubleshoot and diagnose electronic and electro-mechanical issues

  • Coordinate development activity with consultants and outside organizations as necessary

  • Meet project schedules and product specifications

  • Identify/specify parts, components, and assemblies

  • Work with key suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of critical components

  • Design critical control elements for high-precision optical systems

  • Regular reviews project updates and reviews

  • Operate within a cross functional team, understand the needs and requirements of internal stakeholders as well as external customers

  • Prepare and chair design reviews


Qualifications


  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or well-related field

  • Demonstrated ability to conceive, design, and produce precision control systems of varying degrees of complexity

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of analytical investigations of electrical/electronic/motion-control equipment, including diagnostic troubleshooting, motion analysis, timing diagrams for interacting components

  • Working knowledge of position sensing and optical measuring components

  • Simulation experience (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB)

  • Solid ability to use test equipment (oscilloscopes, voltage probes, waveform generators, gauss meters, etc.)

  • Experience working with and selecting linear motors and related supporting components

  • An understanding of magnetic field interactions with solids and the potential for material heating and drag

  • Experience working with and directing a collaborative, cross-functional team development effort

  • Experience working with and managing suppliers of critical parts and components

  • A working knowledge of C/C++ and Linux OS a plus

  • Knowledge of and experience in light sources, optical sensors, and sensor fusion is a plus

  • Experience in the semiconductor capital equipment industry and familiarity with UL, CE, SEMI, and RoHS standards is a major plus.

  • Helicopter view, identify and understand priorities and main risks

  • Highly pro-active, thinks ahead, reports issues and setbacks promptly

  • Team player on all levels

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
