Job Description:
“Exploratory” Requisition
Contractor Request for a highly experienced and skilled airframe (AF) design engineer (SMC 647).

Must have experience, knowledge and excellent skills with;
- Catia v5 – 3D CAD/CAM tool, tool suite with MBDs, IRM, ARMs, CARMs
- BCA-Commercial 787 Enovia PDM tool
- 787 BCA release processes and procedures.

Develops, integrates and document structural platform designs. Develop, maintain and modify structure and AF component designs, using 3-D Catia v5 Computer Aided Design tools, tool suite and other design methods to provide product definition to other engineering groups such as; other designers, stress, ME, Production operations, suppliers and internal/external customers.
Perform, integrate, research, review earlier designs and validate and verify structures and AF components meet requirements and specifications.
Manages supplier, development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
Investigates and research released designs, and problems on earlier released designs to ensure they meet requirements. Work under minimal general direction.

Education / Experience:
Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

Additional Comments:
Absolutely must have the following BCA (commercial) skills and experience– no exceptions
- 787 CATIA v5
- 787 IVT (Integration Visualization Tool)
- 787 Structure Role in ENOVIA LCA
- 787 REDARS EID

Designer must be very proficient in the following:
- CATIA v5 Complete Model Base Definition
- CATIA v5 FT&A workbench
- CATIA v5 Composite workbench (CWB)
- CATIA v5 Generative Shape Design
- CATIA v5 Part Design
- CATIA v5 Assembly workbench

Must be highly experienced on 787 tools a processes.
- Have designed composite parts based on 787 modeling standards.
- Have designed Installation Requirements Models based on 787 modeling standards.
- Have built component assemblies based on 787 modeling standards.
- Have created release actions, signoff actions and has released parts on the 787 program.
- Have used and feels comfortable working to the 787 Product Definition Data for Review and Approval – Checklists.

Must have experience in following items:
- Able to check dataset to the non-technical modeling standards.
- Experienced using auto fastener.
- Excellent understanding of ENOVIA effectivity (creating and cutting).
- Understands the difference in designing in fuselage integration vs designing in a specific section regarding the plug-offset of different (-) dash number Aircraft (787-8, 787-9, 787-10).
- Be able to applying attribute values to ENOVIA parts and documents.
