Logistics Support Analyst

Description:
Looking for a talented and motivated Logistics Support Analyst . Candidate will report directly to the Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead - LSA personnel. The maintenance program is developed in the
Maintainability System and provides the framework for the maintenance publications. The Technical manual series for this program is prepared in accordance with S1000D authoring specification and delivered in an Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) product. This IETM contains principles of Operation, Maintenance, Illustrated parts Breakdown, and
Testing/Troubleshooting procedures inclusive of system diagnostics.

The primary purpose of the Logistic Support Analysis process is to provide up-front design influence to enhance overall aircraft supportability and operational readiness, while reducing the life cycle cost. The overall objectives of the Logistic Support Analysis are to establish, validate and update the maintenance concept for the entire aircraft life cycle.

The Logistic Support Analyst position requires technical knowledge of the UH-60/S70, SH-60/S70B, S-92/H92 helicopters with experience involving a broad knowledge of Helicopter / Aircraft mechanics, electrical/electronics maintenance and support functions including Component Inventory, Trade Studies, Data Analysis, and Modeling. The position also involves the application of Logistic principles to support Helicopter Maintenance and related support functions which includes Electrical / Electronic/Mechanical System Operational Analysis, and Maintenance Tasking. Familiarity with engineering drawing interpretation, maintainability and reliability principles, assembly and disassembly methods and manufacturing and inspection methods is required.
1. Technical:
a. Identifying the components to be repaired (Candidate List) including the scheduled and unscheduled tasking.

b. Identifying level of repair.

c. Establishing repair parts/tools/consumables/personnel requirements and skill sets.

d. Establishing inspection requirements through Reliability Center Maintenance (RCM) analysis.

e. Identifying/minimizing special tool and support equipment requirements.

f. Establishing and maintaining spare parts and parts provisioning requirements consistent with the maintenance concept.

g. Maintenance Design Support/influence by:

i. Attending IPT/Working Groups meetings, design reviews, vendor visits, etc.
ii. Interfacing with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, and Functional Counterparts. iii. Reviewing design throughout the Configuration Management (CMO) release cycle.
iv. Analyzing design and recommend solutions to supportability constraints encountered with similar fielded aircraft.
v. Participating in trade studies for best design solutions. vi. Evaluating Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP).

h. Designing and developing the support system.

i. Establish a Parts Master Database required for TAP estimating, Spares recommended lists and for inventory planning and Business case forecasting.

j. Provide operational technical support and initial proposal spares forecasts in support of aircraft sales.

2. Liaison:
a. Act as a liaison between In-Service Support (ISS), and Acquisition Engineers, Suppliers, CMHP cross IPT members, IETM/SAMS IT, and customer (DND).

b. Investigate/reply to customer comments and also coordinate supplier incorporation of comments as applicable.

c. Coordinate engineering reviews to ensure turnaround times consistent with product delivery requirements.

d. Support In-Process Reviews as required by the Statement of Work (SOW) or as requested by the CMHP Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead.

3. Project Management / Quality Tracking:
a. Ensure schedule is maintained and final delivery is made in accordance with the CMHP Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).

b. Ensure project status is maintained and reported. Experience using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) as it relates to deliverable activities within the IMS is a plus.

c. Possess a thorough knowledge of the terms and conditions of work conducted at the outsource supplier sites.

d. Perform quality evaluations on supplier projects to track and reduce defect rates.

e. Maintain and retain quality forms in accordance with Supportability & Training (S&T) standard work.

f. Customer and upper management status presentations may be required.


4. Preferred Credentials:
a. BS in a technical discipline or related/equivalent fileds of study is required.

b. Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent work experience. A&P license is highly desired.

c. Broad knowledge of Helicopter / Aircraft mechanics, electrical/avionics maintenance.

d. Commercial aircraft market experience a plus.

e. Knowledge of support functions which includes Component Inventory, Trade Studies, Data Analysis, and Modeling

f. Familiarity with Engineering drawings, databases and specifications.

g. Familiarity with computerized logistics systems, maintainability and reliability principles.

i. Familiarity with parts flow in the supply chain (warehousing, shelf stock) required.

j. Strong MS Excel, MS Access skills in a very dynamic environment.

k. Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving skills.

l. Highly motivated self-starter; able to think and operate independently. Candidate must have the ability to manage multiple activities of varied size and scope.

m. Strong customer focus and a high degree of attention to detail. Strong communications skills (both written and verbal). Strong organizational skills.

n. The candidate should be results oriented and flexible to work within a dynamic team environment.

o. Possess a working knowledge of Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) toolset, especially Relentless Root Cause Analysis.

c. 15% Travel may be required.
