Aircraft Mechanic

Description:
Our client, a global security and aerospace company, is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. Solving complex challenges and delivering innovative solutions to help customers keep people safe and provide them essential services, our client is hiring for the following critical need:


Aircraft Mechanic

Responsibilities:
• Repair and modify aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components
• Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
• Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.

Qualification:
• Interim Secret Security Clearance is the minimum requirement to start. Active Secret Clearance is preferred.
• This position supports a 4/10 work schedule.
• Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
• Must have basic knowledge of electrical theory
• Must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts
• Working knowledge of technical publications.
• Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair
• Must have experience and ability to operate or perform one or more of the following:
o Aircraft structural experience in modification to include but not limited to structural TM/TO repairs, build to print assembly and installation.
o Must have a common knowledge of tooling required for performance of aircraft structural work.
o Must be a qualified aviation sheet metal mechanic, employee must have experience in aviation sheet metal, hardware installation such as rivet installation, HI-Loc installation, etc.
o Must have fabrication to facilitate plane side repairs.
• Must have advanced Sheetmetal skills that can work with little direction on complex modifications.
• Must be able to work shift schedules during this duration as required by program schedule and customer requirements.
• Must have a high school diploma, or equivalent.
• Must be proficient in reading and interpreting schematics, engineering drawings and technical manuals / technical orders.
• Depot Maintenance Repair experience
*U.S. Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree combined with 3+ years of experience; or a Master’s Degree
• Minimum 3 years intermediate level aircraft repair or modification experience required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with one of the listed airframes H-60, AH-64, CH-47 or OH-58. MH-60M experience preferred.
• Documented Military/DOD Service School or Civilian/FAA equivalent training desired.
