Data Analyst Administrator

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a A&PS Data Analyst Administrator, in Stratford CT. 
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Performs basics administrative support functions.

  • The Safety Analytics Administrator will provide junior level analytical and administrative support to the A&PS Senior Managers.
  • Additionally, the Safety Analytics Administrator will support the Safety Analytics Lead developing database solutions, and interpreting and analyzing data used to drive business decisions.
  • Tasks include organizing, analyzing and maintaining the data collected from diverse sources.
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Filter and "clean" data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
  • Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Develop/maintain data dictionary by revising and entering definitions.
  • Protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Protect database by developing access system; specifying user level of access as required.
  • Maintains user reference by writing and rewriting database descriptions and updating processes and developing standard work.
  • Talented with the data management policies, procedures and widespread technical tools.
  • Provide basic department administrative functions which include calendar scheduling, electronic filing, travel/expense support, budget coordination, data entry, human resource updates, webpage design and maintenance.

Basic Qualifications
  • Proficient knowledge in database systems, programming and analytics:
  • Experience in new software implementation and configuration, including developing requirements, and liaising with IT professionals.
  • The ability to accommodate changing priorities on a daily basis is a must.
  • Refined communication skills a must.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and clearly communicate requirements to design, manufacturing and management personnel.
  • Requires good PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe products.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience.
  • Considered experienced, but still a learner
  • Experience developing and managing complex, technical databases.
  • Education: BS in Safety, Computer Science, Information, Business Administration Management or Statistics
  • Strong logical, assessment and interpretation skills.
  • Excellent planning and administrative abilities.
  • Expert level proficiency in database development and management, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint is essential.
  • Preparing / updating reports, summaries, charts, and other materials for management and executive level briefings.
  • Analyzing safety data to compile accident metrics.
  • Proven working experience as a data analyst.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (MS Access, SQL etc), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks).
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
  • Problem Solving, Documentation Skills, Verbal Communication, Data Maintenance, Database Security, Promoting Process Improvement, System Administration.
  • Candidates should have a strong interest in aviation.
  • Prior aviation experience and formal safety training are highly desirable.
  • Candidates must have a solid technical background
  • The ability to understand and support aircraft safety investigation and root cause corrective action processes by working with the Chief Aviation Safety Investigator and following standard work documentation.
