Software Engineer

Description:
We are seeking a talented Software Engineering professional to join our exciting team with focus on Avionics Systems or Space and Defense Products. This position is currently available as an on-site role at a customer facility in Clifton, NJ. This is a direct, full-time position with benefits. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor of Science degree in the engineering field, and a minimum of 6 years of experience within the aerospace and defense industry or other highly regulated industry experience. This position does require the person to perform cleared work - a secret clearance is required.

Job duties:
Senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management. Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight. Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. Makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results

Communicates within and outside of own function or business area and has responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.) when necessary. Explains, interprets, and gains cooperation on policies, procedures and practices.

Works to achieve operational targets with direct impact on the departmental results. Contributes to the development of goals for the department and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans, etc.).

Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science or related engineering degree from an accredited institution.
* 6+ years embedded software development/integration experience - preferably with aerospace software/systems, power systems, or complicated technical systems.
* Enjoys collaboration with others and well versed in AGILE development methodologies.
* Recent experience (last 2 years) in embedded development, real time systems, using C++/assembly/C
* Recent experience in implementing new functionality in an embedded system with an existing SW baseline.
* Experience in LINUX operating systems is desired
* Ability to deal with ambiguity, to be adaptable, to work across multi-discipline teams, and to drive results
* Legal authorization to work in the U.S. with a secret clearance is required.
