Job Function:

The Information Security Program is seeking a Business Analyst to join the core program team for an initial period of 5 months. This may be extended depending on performance and need.

The Business Analyst will work alongside application owners and the project managers within the Information Security Program team. A number of system gaps have been identified and the Business Analyst will work with the application owners to document the most appropriate solutions (requirements), will assist the project managers with planning the work required and will represent the team back to the business owners impacted by the changes.

The Business Analyst may also assist the project managers in monitoring progress against plan and other project support activities.

Job Summary:

To assist customers in realizing their business plans by playing a key role in business projects, process improvements and operational excellence. Under general supervision, the BA finds the critical information necessary to develop high-quality analyses. The role necessitates identifying and evaluating requirements for business change and specifically ensuring that business requirements are documented and translated into effective business solutions, representing the business within the technical delivery arena.

Job Duties:

• The documentation of process and information requirements in support of internal and external customer initiatives
• Evaluation of business objectives that require new or enhanced processes or systems
• Provision of analytical support to business users and other IT personnel to both determine specific problem areas, and conduct research for the identification, evaluation and implementation of possible solutions
• Provision of effective liaison between IT personnel and business departments or external vendors
• Contributes to the development of and adheres to standards of structured processes for the change management processes necessary for the successful design, development, testing and deployment of systems
• Assist the user preparation and participation in requirements gathering workshops including business goals, processes, decision criteria, and user requirements
• Work in collaboration with the Solution Architect and Project Manager to help guiding the customer to a solution that will meet the requirements while aiming to stay within the boundaries of the project timeline, budget and technical solution complexity
• The ongoing management of business requirements for quality control and re-use

Qualifications:

• Typically a four year bachelor of science (BS) college degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of four (4) years’ of Progressive Experience in business analysis, requirements elicitation, customer relationship management and/or bridge roles between functional business areas and IT
• Must have a working level of business acumen
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills coupled with the ability to listen, question and understand end users’ needs
• The IT environment is complex and the BA must be able to quickly assimilate necessary knowledge of a particular system or process with which they may not be familiar
• Many of the processes and systems within scope of the role are global and therefore the role must deal with global cultural, regulatory and process differences
• Must have ability to work on virtual teams
