Learning Specialist

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Learning Specialist in Pittsburgh, PA.


  • The Learning Management System (LMS) Systems Administrator is responsible for managing all aspects of the various LMS applications but not limited to the configuration, software changes, upgrades, performance tuning, patches and migrations, disaster recovery, identification and resolving of technical issues and maintenance of the LMS, ensuring the system operations are properly configured and supported at all times.
  • This role is responsible for report design and delivery, creation of system policies and procedures, maintenance of supporting technical documentation, vendor support and technical support for internal and external end users.
  • Additionally, provides support to Curriculum Developers for online content and support of Instructor-led delivery and logistics.
  •  The position requires the candidate to work cross-functionally with other departments, partners, and end-customers and therefore requires exceptional communications skills and high energy. 
  • Obtain and maintain expert status in LMS configuration, administration and support. 
  • Develop and maintain training documentation for LMS user community. 
  • Document and manage training content & reporting requirements. 
  • Reporting: creation, testing, delivery. 
  • Support test plans to validate system functions according to specifications (e.g. Integrate & test online content with the LMS). 
  • Create, edit and maintain HTML Web Pages, Templates, Graphics and Style Sheets in both WYSIWYG and code format. 
  • Continually evaluate the needs of learners and communicate recommended changes to eLearning staff. 
  • Monitor LMS usage and data validation. 
  • Ongoing process definition and improvement. 
  • LMS operations. 
  • User registration & user password maintenance. 
  • Data integrity. 
  • Process all aspects of regional enrollments. 
  • Reporting: Daily, Weekly, Monthly. 
  • ILT Delivery Logistics. 
  • Rosters, facility arrangements, shipping. 
  • Final assessment access/reporting. 
  • Evaluations and process certificates. 

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree or equivalent experience preferred in IT, Computer Science, Organizational Development or related field. 


  • 2+ years’ experience working with data interfaces and understanding its impact to the learning management system. 
  • Highly proficient computer skills – to include a mastery of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work with multiple application technologies and tools. 
  • Good understanding of HTML, style sheets, framesets, etc. for web page maintenance. 
  • Experience with database fundamentals and SQL queries to aid in report development.
