Description: PDS Tech is seeking an Chemical Technician to fill an open position in Hometown, PA
Ideal candidate will have working knowledge of GC, FTIR and analytical systems.
Work with Material Technology for the Electronics Industry developing semiconductor and photovoltaic products.
Position will support the analysis of cylinders containing gases and gas mixtures for process and finished goods for customers.
Role involves working closely with an integrated team of Chemists, Technicians and Engineers in a laboratory / plant environment to meet the needs of the semiconductor industry. Coordinating analytical results with planners and scheduling specific analytical needs of the customer throughout the process will be required.
Position requires applicant(s) to have a strong working knowledgeable of GC, FTIR and analytical systems.
Having additional understanding of analytical systems and good computer skills is an additional benefit.
Candidates with experience using analytical systems such as LIMS and/or SAP are preferred.
The person will also share in the responsibility to maintain a safe and clean lab environment by following all safe laboratory practices.

B.S. degree in chemistry is preferred A.S./B.S. degree in a related field will also be considered with relevant laboratory experience. Minimum – Possess at least 1-2 years of industrial experience working in a chemical laboratory setting.
Applicant(s) must possess: • Strong communication skills, both oral and written. • Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the group in a team environment. • Working knowledge of software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Assignment will require the completion of a pre-placement Fit for Duty evaluation:
Contractor will be required to work with chemicals: Hydrogen/Germane/Helium. Contractor will not be required to wear a respirator. Contractor will occasionally lift / carry up to 35 pounds, bend/stoop, squat, reach above shoulder, push/pull. Contractor will be exposed to changes in temperature/humidity.
