JSG is seeking an Experimental Aeromechanics for a 12+ months contract opportunity in Stratford, CT!
Layup of multi-layer composites, consisting of fiberglass and graphite, with other materials as required
Composite testing specimens using Engineering Standard Work
Provide for integration into the value stream for test specimen requirements within the fabrication process, along with R&D development projects.
Dressing materials to the designated sizes, with support for static testing to define the material properties for Engineering.
Provide written comments for peer review prior to test specimen preparation and planning.
Process EWR's using machining skill set, while identifying the necessary activities related to quality machining.
Skills & Experience Required
5 + years’ relevant experience required.
Ability to perform adhesive mixing, composite layup and curing Ability to read and interpret drawings in both hard copy and electronic form
Provide a high level of attention to details for assembly of parts, including measurements with precision devices to high accuracy of 0.0001
Ability to work independently with a high level of self-direction and competency.
Ability to assemble complex composite assemblies related to rotorcraft, with an understanding to form, fit and function, while interacting with designers and test engineers on interferences and improved features
Ability to document the tasks performed with a clear understanding to traceability, allowing changes in data and drawings to be revised
Flexibility to perform work within any given shift such as lifting of calibration weights, multiple climbing of stairs.
Test related overtime
Travel extending several weeks for offsite testing is required.
Required hours are based on work task varying needs. Research level interactive process development with Engineers, and team worker, taking or giving direction Technician should be self - motivated, ethical for working hours charged, and demonstrates insight.
