Technical Writer - RPSTL

Description:
RPSTL (Repair Parts & Special Tool List) with Logistics Analyst

5+ years’ experience in technical writing with a background writing for mechanical products
Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Hands-on experience reading/using Engineering drawings/blueprints.
Provide technical support to client for revision, editing and authoring of technical data pertaining to U.S. Army utility helicopters (UH-60 A/L/M).
Receive and review ECN (Engineering Change Notices) and implement applicable changes to the RPSTL (Repair Parts & Special Tool List).
Collaborate with client and technical representatives to perform author processes to RPSTL data.
Verify provisioning data using the PLISN (Provisioning List Item Sequence Number) for accuracy and provide notification and course of action to correct any issues noted.
Utilize client Aircraft Management System online data base tracking system for management of publications.
Additional tasks may include DOs (Delivery Orders) and PCRs (Publication Change Requests) in addition to ongoing activities that must be accomplished in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, MS Office applications, desktop publishing systems.
Will consider a Technical Writer with a background in IPB. Experience with military publications is preferred. Familiar with IETM (Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals). Prior experience with XML a plus. 

QUALIFICATIONS

RPSTL writing experience.  Prior experience in military rotor wing publications preferred.

B.A./S., A.A./S., High School Diploma or GED
Must be able to read Engineering Drawings
Familiarity or experience with Parts Databases (PowerLOG or SLIC)
Familiarity with parts indenturing; BOMs (Bill of Materials)
Able to communicate effectively with customers and relay instructions to Illustrators and Provisioners
Familiarity and/or experience with S-1000D, MIL-STD 40051 and MIL-STD-38784 specifications.
Familiarity with XML, Content, IADS4, Adobe apps, Xyvision
Able to work paid overtime
Able to communicate effectively with customers and relay instructions
