Perform technical integration activities associated with all Client Avionic systems.
Generate requirements, analyze, review and approve system designs, oversee system integration, coordinate with various Integrated Product Teams/Suppliers, work with all departments for design validation and verification, testing and certification and provide support to certification authorities as required.
Review and approve the suppliers design through participation in the supplier's development, design, manufacture, integration, and verification process.
Assist in functional, integration, qualification, and ground/flight testing of all the Client avionics systems.
Perform ground and/or flight testing activities for Client avionics systems on dedicated specialist test rigs.
Develop testing procedures, perform test preparation and undertake test vehicle validation.
Participate in troubleshooting and develop/implement resolution plans when testing anomalies occur.
Be asked to work on various avionics systems including but not limited to: Auto-flight: Flight guidance, Auto-throttle, Autoland;
Flight Displays: EFIS, EICAS, HUD;
Flight Management Systems (FMS): Navigation, RNP etc.
Communications including VHF, CPDLC, HF, SATCOM etc.
Digital Integration: Integrated Modular Avionics, Data-buses ARINC 429, AFDX, TTP etc).
CVR/FDR, Inertial Reference System and other Client secondary Avionics Systems.
University degree in Electrical, Electronics, Software, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
Must have 15 or more years of relevant aerospace systems experience.
Have a good knowledge with the specification, design, integration, test and certification of Avionics systems on aircraft.
Have a good knowledge of RTCA documents DO-178 and DO-160.
Are familiar with part FAR25 / 525 certification process and with the ARP4754 standard.
Have an experience with civil aircraft in a production or maintenance environment (asset).
Have strong communication skills (written and spoken).
Full flexibility is expected (may be on-call, shift-work, rotational work, weekends, odd hours, etc). Weekend, night and evening shift may be expected.
Occasional business trips to Wichita, KS may occur.
