Electrical Engineer

Description:
This is a contract Electrical Engineering position with an initial duration of 9 months reporting to the Current Products Engineering Manager with a dotted line report to the Electrical Resident Engineer. This role acts as a liaison between plant manufacturing operations repair, assembly, supply quality, and Product Engineering. The contract Electrical Engineer provides technical troubleshooting expertise with regards to electrical and electromechanical motorcycle systems production at the York Assembly Plant, consulting on design solutions to short-term problems mainly involved with our EV motorcycles and ensuring related documentation is accurate, complete and communicated to all relevant stakeholders.

This is what you’ll do:

• Analyze and Troubleshoot complex electrical components on motorcycle CAN bus systems for production or engineering related issues using Vector Can Diagnostic Tools and Digital Technician / Engineer.
• This work will be primarily on EV motorcycles however may include internal combustion vehicles as required.
• Act as a liaison between Manufacturing Major repair and Engineering.
• Provide guidance and resources to support product development, as it relates to improving quality of EV and conventional production motorcycles.
• Communicate current production issues to design engineers and others as appropriate.

Education Required
A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.

Experience Required
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. In addition, they will have demonstrated the following:
• Self-starting & self-directing with a pro-active approach to deliver great results
• Experience in troubleshooting electrical systems and software issues
• Knowledge and experienced around serial communication (CAN)
• Knowledge and experienced around Engineering test and vehicle diagnostics (UDS)
• Experience with vehicle level electrical architecture and integration
• Experience with design for manufacturing and assembly processes
• Experience with training others on technical subjects
• Knowledge of other key systems and processes within Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Quality, Product Development and Service
