Systems Engineer

Description:
Summary:
1. Our client is one of the world's largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defense products.
2. The ISR & Space Systems business unit provides products and services to global government and commercial customers that enable mission success in the harshest environments: in space, in the air, at sea, and on the ground.
3. They design and manufacture Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS) and Active Thermal Control Systems (ATCS) on a number of space & sea platforms including the International Space Station, the U.S. space suit, the next generation of space vehicles such as the CST-100 Starliner and Orion, and the US Navy’s submarine fleet.

Description:
1. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join us as a Systems Engineer to support the design, development, verification & validation, and operational support of ECLSS and ATCS hardware for future space vehicles.
2. Responsibilities may include: system development trade studies and optimization, development of concepts of operations, developing product requirements at the system/component level for mechanical/electrical/software, thermal/fluid/chemical system modeling, steady state & transient performance analyses, as well as component sizing.
3. Skills in one or more of the following also strongly desired: system dynamic controls and stability analysis and requirements development & management are highly desirable.
4. Skills in MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape, DOORS & DXL, Excel & VBA, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML, MagicDraw & Cameo Modeler.

Education / Certifications:
1. Bachelors in Mechanical/Aerospace/Chemical/Systems Engineering with 5-15 years of experience.

Experience / Basic Qualifications:
1. Relevant component hardware experience: heat exchangers, pumps, fans, separators, motors, motor controllers, chemical beds, sensors, valves, and accumulators.
2. Ability to work well both independently and within an integrated product development (IPD) team environment.
3. Excellent attention to detail.
4. Excellent writing & math skills.
5. Must be a US Person.

Preferred Qualifications.
1. Experience performing thermal/fluid/chemical analyses.
2. Experience on hardware development program: proposal, development, manufacture, verification, and operational support.
3. Experience performing system development/integration/architecting.
4. Relevant system experience: thermal control systems, air revitalization systems (CO2/H2O/trace contaminant removal), pressure control systems, oxygen generation systems, potable water systems, fuel cell systems, human waste management systems or other equivalent systems.
