Mechanical Engineer - Level 2

Description:
Location: Centennial, CO
Duration: 6 month contract
Pay Rate: DOE
Overtime: Exempt
Per Diem Split: Yes (if eligible)

Job Description:
- This engineering function provides engineering design, systems integration, and product technical support for Payload Accommodations.
- Develops system and component designs/layouts and requirements to satisfy overall systems requirements.
- The position requires mechanical design capability as well as understanding dynamic and structural analysis concepts.
- Must have the capability to perform system integration and perform system level trade studies to optimize designs for manufacturing, producibility and performance.
- Develop design improvements that reduce cost and risk and/or improve vehicle performance. Generates engineering drawings as well as assembly and testing requirements.
- Tasks may involve new designs or modifications to existing designs.
- The individual will be expected to work collaboratively with mechanical engineers as well as representatives from manufacturing, quality, drafting and other engineering disciplines.
- Provide direct support to the suppliers, the factory and the launch site to ensure production schedules are met, and streamline operations to improve efficiency.

Basic Requirements
-Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university and 2+ years experience in mechanical engineering field
-Familiar with mechanical design utilizing Siemens NX, CREO, Pro/Engineer, or other CAD modeling software
-Familiar with structural and/or dynamics analysis
-Goal oriented with an acute attention to detail
-A team player with the ability to adapt within a dynamic working environment
-Ability to work extended hours, off shifts and weekends

Preferred Qualifications
-Proficient in mechanical design utilizing Siemens NX
-Experience in 3D PDF design process
-Knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter design release process
-Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
-Knowledge of Aerospace design
