Assembler - Level 3

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Assembler - Level 3 for an open position in Orlando, FL.
Job Description: 

  • Please recruit candidates who are experienced in building electro and mechanical assemblies.
  • Proficiency in cable routing per interconnect diagrams and drawings is strongly required.
  • Prior experience building system-level assemblies, such as automated test stations or simulators, is also required.
  • All candidates must be able to build from the aid of drawings, detailed planning, wiring diagrams and work instructions in a production flow line with multiple team members. .
  • Repairs, fabrication, troubleshooting and installation of electronic devices using blueprint and schematic drawings.
  • Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
  • Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
  • Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units.
  • Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed.
  • May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and sub-assemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions. 

Mandatory Skills:
  • Ability 50lbs. 
  • No physical work restrictions preventing the lifting of assets (up to 25 pounds) or working on your feet all day.
  • Experience working in continuous improvement teams and communicating process improvements to support the team.
  • Experience routing multiple types of cables in one interconnected assembly and understanding how to apply stain relief and appropriate bend radii.
  • At least a basic understanding of lean manufacturing concepts such as 6S, flow, and takt time. 
  • Production assembly flow = Knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly in a production flow/line process.  
  • Solder =  Knowledge of soldering in electro - mechanical assembly.  

Desired Skills:

  • IPC 620 and J-STD-001 Acceptability Criteria
  • Experience working in production facilities under ISO 9001 and AS9100 certification.
