Structural Analysis Engineer-Levels 3, 4 & 5

Location: Kennedy Space Center, FL/Remote from other client sites
Duration: 6 Months

Job Description:
Client Defense, Space and Security is seeking an mid-level Stress Analysis Engineer at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system design. Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product''s environment. Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance. Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied. Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements. Works under general direction.

Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, system modeling and other analysis tools (NASTRAN, PATRAN, Common Structures Workstation and home-grown tools) throughout the product life-cycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Experience performing stress analysis using manual hand calculations.
- Experience with Analysis tools Nastran/Patran
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Applied Mechanics, Structural, and Civil are preferred.
- Experience with Human-Rated Space-based systems.
- Exeperience working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with design and analysis of high modulus composites is desired.
- Experience with Hypermesh.
- Experience with product data management tools such as EDRS (Engineering Design Release System) and TeamCenter Enterprise (TCE) are a plus.

Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
