FAA Sr Quality Engineer

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a FAA Sr Quality Engineer in Greer, SC.


  • Sustains compliance of Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures for Aftermarket Repair and Overhaul Facility Quality Policy - we are accountable for delivery of our products and services right the first time, on time, every time. 
  • We will satisfy customers, comply with requirements and continually improve our organizational capabilities, processes and systems. 
  • Ensures conformity with customer requirements, regulatory agencies, government regulations, and engineering specifications.
  • Upholds performance goals and improvement objectives for quality across the site 
  • Responsible for generating, monitoring, and reporting site-specific quality metrics to Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) functions 
  • Tracks overall improvement impact to include Cost of Poor Quality, First Pass Yield, Quality Measures, and Escapes 
  • Supports all Aerospace business, internal, and regulatory audits as required to include managing Root Cause, Corrective Action, Corrective Actions Mistake-Proofing, eCATS, data mining, and Quality Notification processes 
  • Provides inputs to continuous product and process quality improvements across the ISC value chain, including quality engagement into Operating System deployment 
  • Utilizes enablers such as Lean/Six Sigma to identify best practices and drive continuous quality improvement throughout the organization 
  • Prepares and presents metrics associated with quality trends and related improvements within the supply base 
  • FAA/EASA accountable manager. Responsible for the sites compliance to FAA and EASA regulations including audit support, regulatory manual updates, and procedural compliance 
  • Provide regulatory guidance to Final inspectors and quality staff 
  • Support the Civil Aviation Authority of China certification and United Kingdom Ministry of Defense certifications 
  • Serves and the Quality primary point of contact with DCMA for all US military customers 
  • Has dotted line oversight on site quality inspectors for training, qualification, and certifications and manages the repair station inspection roster 
  • Primary POC for FAA part 21 (OEM) and part 145 and related FAA activities 
  • Manages FAA repair station Operation Specifications and Capabilities list with the FAA-FSDO office 
  • Manages and coordinates with International on FAA new production being performed at the Greer site 
  • Perform reviews of new contracts, products and takes part in / leads new product introduction projects 
  • Ensure all product and process quality deficiencies are satisfactorily resolved through application of the Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process 
  • Continuous Improvement support working with the supplier to improve processes and initiate improvement actions as needed 
  • Review all site supplement changes to ensure the supplier remains compliant with the Quality System, FAA regulations and Direct Shipment Authorization 
  • Interface with the business segment Customer Quality representatives providing support and responsiveness to customer requirement flow down, quality initiatives, product-related resolution, and review presentations 
  • Work directly with the Supplier Quality group on issues related to the inspection of Proprietary Parts, drawings and specification requirements 
  • Provide Quality support for product transitions 
  • Implement product and process improvements/controls to assure sustained product quality results at the completion of the transitions 
  • Perform periodic audits of the operation of the supplier Quality Management System 
  • Supplier work instructions related to Proprietary Parts to ensure they have followed established processes 

  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements. 
  • 5 years of experience in a Repair and Overhaul environment. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Technical or related discipline – OR – in lieu of degree, 10 years of experience in a Repair and Overhaul environment. 
  • Organizational Design Authority Representative certified. 


  • Six Sigma Greenbelt. 
  • A&P mechanic. 
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written. 
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of leadership. 
  • Ability to identify risks and mitigating actions to achieve positive results. 
  • Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for implementing solutions.
