PDS Tech Inc., is seeking a Resident Engineer in Warren, MI

Provide Onsite Customer Service and Support. Takes direction from GM Lead Component Engineer / RE Manager Release assigned parts into GM system

Project Management
  • Release parts within the General Motors GPDS system using E2 process
  • Order parts to support build events when requested using E2 process
  • Ensure timely closure of all E2 Work Orders
  • Co-Facilitate subsystem/component Product Development Team (PDT) meetings
  • Track and Update the PDT timing plan (Timing Analyst is lead)
  • Track and Maintain Delivery matrix of Bench, Mule Build Parts
  • Track and Maintain Delivery matrix of Software and Calibration files
  • Coordinate necessary communication meetings between their company and GM
  • Facilitate and expedite the processing of change requests
  • Represent General Motor’s position when communicating with their company
  • Coordinate with supplier the software delivery requirements and priorities (Lead reviews and approves)
  • Follows all appropriate ISO work instructions
  • Maintains General Motors Business Records in accordance with Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) guidelines

Technical Leadership

  • Troubleshoot system issues on the bench and in-vehicle and reflash ECU as needed
  • Supports related system Peer Reviews (i.e. HMI, Fascia interface, CAN, wiring harness, etc.)
  • Supports Packaging of released components. Requires coordination between supplier and GM or Tier 1 Designers
  • Incorporation of product and process design best practices and lessons learned
  • Support vehicles build process and vehicle signoff activities for all prototypes and manufacturing builds. (Virtual/Mule/Structural/Integration/Manufacturing/Production)
  • Maintain a file on site of schematics, circuit board layouts, source code, S/W algorithms, DFMEAs, specifications, to assist in expeditious resolution of all issues
  • Supports Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) activities
  • Supports system DFMEA process
  • Supports development of Learning ADV subplan
  • Support assembly plant or Tier 1 build events and development events
  • Resolve issues on assigned component technical specification sections
  • Investigate design alternatives with supplier (when required)
  • Supports bench and other development activities
  • Develops Owner Manual Verbiage/Graphics as appropriate
  • Support assembly plant problem resolution process

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics / Electrical / Computer Science / Mechanical Engineering Entry to Mid-Level Experience – Automotive Internship, Customer Service Experienced, Resident Engineer, Microsoft Office(Word,Excel,PowerPoint) proficiency, VBA programming a plus , Works well in various situations represents their company at all levels with superior customer service, self-starter and continuous learner

  • Experienced with an automotive embedded ECU, Understand CAN Bus Serial communications, Worked with GM E-squared and Change Management Process.
