What You’ll Do:

Develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
Develop, maintain and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
Perform, integrate analytical and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Manage supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
Develop new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
Work under general direction.
Designs, manufacture, and market DSP-based Software-Defined Radios (SDR) globally.
What You’ll Need:

Specific areas of expertise include DSP-based receiver design, communication systems theory, cellular/PCS/wireless communications, software, electronic packaging, digital and RF hardware design.
Electronics packaging design.
Must have a minimum of 2 years experience using 3D modeling tools, Creo is preferred.
Must be able to conceptualize and design parts using a variety of fabrication processes.
Must be able to create models of parts in CAD and create accurate and concise fabrication and assembly documentation that follow industry standards and communicate with a vast audience.
Must be optimized for cost and ease of manufacturing.
Involved in design reviews, component selection, perform tolerance analysis, and prototyping of new designs.
Experience with injection molding plastics, vacuum forming plastics, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, connector selection, cable design, graphics design, and rendering in CAD.
Computer literate
Must be able to read and write training material/job material
Successfully completing training OJT is a contingency

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or chemistry combined with 5 + years of relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. ENG degree required
