Electrical Test Engineer

Description:
Job Functions

* Train new operators on how to use the testers and how to perform troubleshooting of the component under test.
* Level 1 support of ETFV ( (Electrical Test Final Validation) test systems at the plant – monitor KPI’s, tester performance, report top issues and support plant teams in problem resolutions and process improvements.
* Perform troubleshooting of the electrical test systems when required, and work with plant maintenance personnel, Corporate ME-ETFV, or vendors to make necessary repairs.
* Interface to the Corporate ME-ETFV group for liaison of plant issues regarding the electrical test systems.
* Support implementation of new test systems and/or new test cases..
* Follow new product launches (pre-series and changeovers) for training on new test systems, and support plant training of new vehicle electrical/electronic systems.
* Generate new ideas for vehicle testing and assembly process improvements.
* Travel may be required for projects and/or training.

Basic Qualifications

* Associates or Bachelor’s degree in automotive technology, electronics, computer science, or related technical engineering field with 2 years of related experience OR 4 yrs of related experience is required.
* Basic knowledge and understanding of electrical fundamentals is required (voltage, current, continuity, reading electrical schematics, etc).
* Working knowledge of vehicle electrical/electronic systems (Body Controllers, J1939, CAN Bus, etc.) is preferred.
* Experience with vehicle wire harnesses, automated test systems, and National Instruments data acquisition devices are preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
* Fluent in Spanish and English is a plus
* Programming languages C, C#, C++, .NET, SQL or Visual Basic is preferred.
