Design Checker- ASME /ANSI standards (172)

Description:
*This is a full time, 6 month contract position located in Sterling Heights, MI*

We are seeking a Design Checker who will examine aerospace engineering CAD models, drawings and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and sound design to prescribed standards and contractual requirements. They will also interpret applicable drawing standard requirements and assesses the quality of the technical backup data, investigates errors and recommends solutions.

Part of the daily work will include correction of errors in calculations, dimensions, and design specifications, collaborating with program managers, engineers, drafters and designers, support of drafting/drawing standards and reference manual revisions.

Required:
*4+ years’ experience as a Checker, checking designs against ASME Y14.5M-1994 (Dimensioning & Tolerancing), Y14.24 (Engineering Drawing Practices & Drawings), Y14.5, Y14.41 and IAW ASME Y14.100,
MIL-STD 3100.
*Analyze models and drawings for adherence to company protocols and procedures.
*AS Degree

Preferred:
*DoD or aerospace manufacturing experience
*Familiar with CREO 4.0
*4 year engineering degree
*Enova PDM version 10.6
