Project Engineer

Description:
Location: Sacramento, CA
Rate: $45.00 - $50.00/HR
Duration: 6 month contract

**Candidates MUST be available for IN PERSON interview**

Duties:
- Position reports directly to the program office for a NASA program with daily schedule demands.
- Duties include supporting program office, manufacturing and quality organizations as a Project Engineer for 4 rocket motors to be delivered for flight and qualification in 2018.
- Support is specific to each motor and includes daily preparing, updating and tracking to a detailed schedule, hosting a daily 7am schedule meeting with the customer, insuring actions are assigned and closed each day, and driving non-conformances through engineering and disposition.
- In addition, individual may support the Program Manager with program oversight, special projects and issues resolution, as required.

Skills:
- Position requires familiarity with aerospace manufacturing/quality processes, MS Outlook, MS Project and MS Excel.
- Experience with other space or defense programs is a plus.
- Skills include the ability to get work done through other organizations using a detailed schedule to drive progress and in a positive, encouraging manner.
- Individual should be solution oriented so that paths to issue resolution are sought and closed.
- Desired skills include nonconformance closure experience and a working knowledge of engineering design processes.
- Manager is looking for someone with prior aerospace experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment and the drive to get things done in a positive manner.

BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
