Job Title: Mechanical System Design Engineer
Location: Tustin CA if hybrid
Hourly Rate: $70-95/hr (Dependent on Experience)

Company Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical System Design Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of excellence and innovation.
Position Summary: As a Mechanical System Design Engineer at xxxxxx xxxxxxxx, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of mechanical system components and assemblies from conceptualization through to full production. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, ensuring that our designs are optimized for operation, maintenance, and commercial service. Additionally, you will provide crucial support to our supplier relationships and manufacturing processes, ensuring the highest quality and adherence to design specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop conceptual and production designs, encompassing details, assemblies, and installations.
• Collaborate with and oversee Supplier/Vendor scope and efforts, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Create 3D models, perform kinematic studies, generate systems schematics, and produce engineering definitions for detail parts, assemblies, and installations.
• Establish manufacturing tolerances to guarantee the production of precise system components and assemblies.
• Assist in developing and documenting requirements and interface constraints for components.
• Contribute to test definition processes to verify that components and manufacturing processes meet design intent and engineering requirements.
• Participate in the review, approval, and release process of engineering definitions.
• Support the creation and review of manufacturing plans to ensure compliance with design requirements and company processes.

Required Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-10+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Proficiency in mechanical systems and machine design.
• Strong experience with CATIA V5/6 or similar CAD software, with 3DX experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in Mechanical Systems design and familiarity with manufacturing using GD&T.
• Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management tools (PLM) and configuration management.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• A team player with excellent collaboration, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, with a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and excellent time management abilities.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, fuel systems, flight controls, landing gears, actuation systems, or similar kinematic mechanisms.
• Basic stress analysis and component sizing capabilities.
• Familiarity with life safety design requirements and certifications.
• Experience with prototype, development, experimental, and innovative products.
• Hands-on experience with equipment assembly, fabrication, and installation.
• Self-sufficiency and ability to work independently and add value with minimal oversight.
• Eagerness to learn and continuously improve skills and capabilities.
• Positive influence on the team, department, and community.
• Comfortable working in a creative and fast-paced environment.
• Desire and ability to mentor and support the growth of others.

Additional Requirements:
• Consistently generate 70 drawings per week for Delta projects.
• Mandatory: CATIA experience, 3DX experience, GD&T experience.
• No resumes with less than 5 years of relevant experience will be considered.
