Supply Chain Project Manager

Description:
PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking Supply Chain Project Manager in Pittsburgh, PA.

Position Summary:

  • Manage the end to end supply network within Radiology Devices for the complete course (from short- to long-term) across end to end supply network in order to ensure high product availability for patients during the phase of market introduction and commercialization. Ensures worldwide reliable replenishment of sales products considering various network/product dependent supply strategies. 
  • Support late stage development activities and responsible to design and implement supply chains for Development products in the Radiology Devices business.
  • Responsible to design and implement supply network strategies under consideration of aligned commercial business models, assessment of supply risks, inventory steering, replenishment of finished product, product change, product allocation and bottleneck management.
  • Ensures best in class launches and contributing to transfer, site change activities. 

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Bottleneck Management Team Lead to fill in the stocks back to norm level in the pipeline and return to normal operations. Ensure appropriate communication to stakeholders and team members. Support Issue Management. Bring all relevant functions together which are required to resolve the bottleneck situation Focus on supply readiness with regards to shortages
  • Define and implement sustainable measures to mitigate future bottlenecks.
  • Ensure appropriate execution of IBP Process including consistency of planning input and process.
  • Validation and consistency of APO SNP planning results
  • Ensure exchange about performance aspects (site specific and GSM specific KPIs) and site/CMO specific activities with global GSM Teams (HQ and Hub).
  • Collect and discuss forecasting trends and marketing activities within sites/CMOs and operational network teams
  • Collect/discuss life cycle/launch updates, tenders, regulatory, capacity and quality requirements (e.g. build of bridging stocks) with sites and CMOs
  • Collect and share business trends and marketing activities within SCM
  • Track exceptional site related activities like build of bridging stocks, implementation of COGS initiatives. Track implementation of site related risk mitigation activities and projects.
  • Maintain horizontal overview of risks on product level. 
  • Identify and assess risk exposures in operations and sourcing. 
  • Oversee and track the performance of sites/CMOs in the network. 
  • Ensure a healthy site utilization across the whole network. 
  • Identify assumptions for the creation of mid- and long-term supply simulations
  • Identify Pruning opportunities from mid-, long term supply plans
  • Oversee/track replenishment for API and critical core material. 
  • Identify major supply risks. Monitor implementation of treatment/mitigation decision for major risks. Contribute risk management aspects to overall product strategy. Collect life cycle launch updates, SBU updates (e.g. sales updates, opportunities, tenders) 
  • Ensure availability of Value Stream Maps and regular Brand Sanity Checks. Share results of the regular Brand Sanity Checks with all stakeholders.
  • Collect input from PS Brand review (supply outlook, risk exposure update, flexibility situation). Prepare logistical/financial comparison of the collected numbers. Consolidate life cycle launch updates, SBU updates (e.g. sales updates, opportunity, tender) and communicate to upper management 
  • Act as SCM window person ad first contacts for all SCM related topics in the Marketing Brand Teams
  • Support brand/portfolio deep dive activities within the Marketing Brand Teams representing SCM aspects
  • Establish a solid communication into Marketing Brand Teams and Therapeutic Areas. Align long mid- and long-term supply assumptions and results across PS and with the Business Unit
  • Project Management Support
  • Provide guidance and structure to the execution of Projects through a suitable Project Plan.
  • Set clear standards and procedures under consideration of available resources (people, tools, technology).
  • Track Project activities and ensure traceability of Project-related documentation including achievements, deliverables and reporting.
  • Adjust timelines and deliverables when necessary, ensuring corrective actions through Change Management documentation.
  • Support the Project Leader to ensure successful delivery of the Project (budget, scope, time and quality).

Requirements/Preferences:
  • Education Minimum Requirement Bachelors Degree - BS/BA in Business, Logistics, Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

Skills & Competency Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of operational experience in SCM, Procurement, Quality, R&D, Operations, commercial organization as both individual contributor and manager in the medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech or similar industry
  • Good conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to motivate managers and cross organizational teams to collaborate. Should have a understanding of various disciplines and issues impacting manufacturing and supply chain operations around the world (e.g. regulatory and environmental issues, quality control).
  • Ability to persuade, align and collaboratively build relationships with interface partners
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and to take risk-based decisions
  • Ability to drive corrective action when necessary.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of legal, regulatory and GMP environment in marketing and manufacturing.
  • Appropriate theoretical and practical background and process understanding in production planning, logistics, foreign trade, Logistical planning, optimization and performance measurement.
  • Organization skills to plan, support or lead projects. Strong team and task orientation. Good knowledge in Microsoft tools including MS Project.
  • Good relationship management capabilities and experience in dealing with 3rd party manufacturers or other external parties
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast moving and international environment
  • Leadership and interpersonal relations skills that promote collaboration and transparency across the organization with a high degree of customer focus
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with an ability to simplify and communicate complex issues to the organization. Solid target-oriented communication skills. 
  • Structure and ability to deal with complexity.
  • Solid understanding of SAP (P2R, APO and BW). Oversight on SCM processes, best practices, tactical and strategical trends.
  • Fluent in English
