Senior Linux-HPC Administrator

Description:
We have an Excellent Contract to Hire position for a Senior Linux HPC Administrator to join a leading Company located in the Jupiter, FL area.

The position is responsible for supporting a Linux/HPC Infrastructure in the Classified Computing environments. The position will also provide Linux support and HPC Cluster management and tuning in an accredited classified computing environment supporting multiple Department of Defense (DOD) programs. This position will be located in West Palm Beach, Florida and Los Angeles, California. This position may require 10% travel to support implementations at other sites throughout the country. The position will required to support build and maintain an Authorization to Operate with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).

Responsibilities:
Knowledge of Linux and UNIX operating systems, including scripting and programming proficiencies.
Demonstrate experience in programming system maintenance tasks in C, Java, Perl, Python, batch/shell, or another general-purpose programming language.
Knowledge of NUMA and understanding of NUMA related APIs.
Be able to perform complex performance analysis including system processes, I/O subsystems, networks, and other related components.
Must have experience with multi-threading and parallel processing tools and environments.
Must have experience as a systems administrator.
Must have advanced ability to analyze, design, and architect complex IT systems.
Experience with high-performance servers and associated high-performance networks.
Experience installing and maintaining clustered environments, including automated installation methods.
Knowledge of common server hardware architectures, including servers (CPU, bus, memory), SANS, disk arrays, network hardware. Understanding of Red Hat Linux Operating system including processes, files, memory management and I/O systems; networking services and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, SSL, FTP, Telnet, LDAP). Understanding of IP networking, basic routing, TCP ports and network services, including SSH, LDAP, SFTP and HTTP(S). Ability to design, promote, and implement change control and configuration management, patch management, high availability systems, structured design and support methodologies. Must be organized with a strong ability to deliver tasks on time, manage multiple efforts and be able to work with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to proactively learn, adapt to and use new hardware/software.
Provide technical hardware and software support for Red Hat/CentOS Linux systems to include High Performance Compute Clusters running Engineering codes like ANSYS and CFD++. Provide patch management, performance troubleshooting, application installs and upgrades, and cluster management.
Address service request and incident tickets submitted by the user population requesting new access or break/fix activities to support the user community
Apply System Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) to systems, apply compliance and hardening updates and represent the company during audit activities to help maintain accreditation and authorization to operate
Support projects and help support Linux and Networking environments.

Qualifications:
Lead Linux Engineer responsible for setting technical direction in a multifaceted computing environment.
Solid understanding of NFS and NIS implementations on CentOS and RedHat operating systems EL 6 & 7 on networks and also standalone systems.
Scripting skills required ( e.g., Python / Perl /Bash) .
Customization of Linux operation system packages and distribution (e.g., kickStart)
Experience supporting nVidia based graphics on Linux workstations (e.g., TurboVNC)
Experience with compute clusters, (e.g, Infiniband experience)
Project leadership in the integration of legacy tools / systems with the new technologies
10 + Years of Linux engineering application environment experience
Exposure to High Performance Computing (HPC) and Machine Learning (ML) codes, building recipes, and tuning (e.g. compiler and OpenMP and MPI, NUMA, and various frameworks)
Exposure to HPC applications like ANSYS, CFD++ preferred
Performs system administration duties on a linux HPC Cluster, cluster management, virtualization, cluster usage monitoring, health monitoring, job scheduling, and application integration/installation.
Responsible for system implementation/integration and systems performance analysis.
Manages hardware and software applications in the production environment provided to HPC users.
Experience with batch systems, such OpenPBS or OpenLava
Experience managing parallel and cluster file systems, such as NFS, GPFS, or Lustre
Install software and updates
Coordinates with vendors to resolve hardware and software problems in HPC Cluster.
A current DoD 8570 Baseline Certification (Security+ CE, CAP, GSLC, CASP CE, CISA, CISM, or CISSP) is desired
Knowledge of SAN Storage systems
Knowledge of authentication protocols and techniques (LDAPS/SAML/Kerberos/etc)
Strong knowledge of hardening systems, running SCAP tools and implementing STIGs on systems
Ability to address audit requirements
Knowledge of and experience with compliance to government regulations and standards (NIST Special Publications, NISPOM, Risk Management Framework, etc.)
Strong documentation skills and ability to document and diagram solutions using tools like MS Visio
Experience with Active Directory Authentication for Linux systems a bonus - like SAMBA
VMware ESXI a bonus
Tenable Nessus
Engineering Tool License Administrations (FLEXLM)
Enterprise Backup systems (Commvault / NetBackup / Veeam)

Basic Hiring Criteria:
Candidates must have an active Secret Clearance or have had an active Secret Clearance within the last two years.
Requires 10 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
