Description/Comment:
Seeking an experienced Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer to support the development and testing of experimental aircraft. You will be working in a team environment at our Flight Research Center as you lead the instrumentation effort and support initial test operations within established flight test guidelines to achieve safe flight operations.

Responsibilities:
• Support flight test instrumentation test objectives and flight test activities listed below.
• Design, implement, and maintain instrumentation Airborne Data Acquisition Systems (ADAS) used to condition, monitor, and record data for test objectives
• Utilize developed flight test software suite for data acquisition, processing and analysis specialized processing and transfer of flight test data
• Adhere to flight test policies and procedures to ensure quality and safe data acquisition and operations
• Provide direction to Flight Test Instrumentation Technicians, Electricians, Mechanics
• Collaborate with internal disciplines, including Flight Test Hardware Integration Engineers, Flight Test Engineers, Flight Technology, Instrumentation Labs, Standards and Calibration, Aircraft Coordinators, etc.,
• Generate and update electrical drawings through CAD software

Qualifications:
• B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 5-7 years Flight Test Instrumentation Engineering experience or Engineering experience in a flight test environment
• Knowledge in the following instrumentation sensor applications: strain gages, accelerometers, pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, pitot-static systems, etc.,
• Familiarity with following bus formats: 1553-B, ARINC-429, RS-232/422/485
• Familiarity with airborne data acquisition systems (Teletronics, Zodiac, Quasonix equipment a plus)
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Draftsight, or equivalent software for creating, modifying or updating electrical drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Project)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• Ability to prioritize a variety of assignments
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work flexible hours as necessary
