Field Service Specialist

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a candidate for the Field Service Specialist position located in Brookpark, Ohio.

• Perform basic service calls at customer sites 
• Troubleshoot and determine causes of problems 
• Prepare service reports 
• Develop and perform customer training 
• Supports, creates and revises training content 
• Perform preventive maintenance, safety audits, energy audits on combustion equipment 
• Provide on-call emergency telephone support on a rotating basis 
• Maintain company assets 
• Up sell products and components and work with sales on new opportunities 
• Maintains effective working relations with customer personnel 
• Develop customer relationships 
• Assists the development of documentation and other marketing materials to support building awareness of the Services capability portfolio 
• Participates and completes assigned training and development courseware to ensure sustainable readiness of the Services organization 
• Completes required skills/knowledge assessments and training as required for (re)certification of Services knowledge and skill 
• Participates in active and thorough reviews of known customer requirements and the customer environment to support assessments of Eclipse capability to provide desired solutions 
• Completes assigned projects according to the defined scope including full documentation of observations, measurements, findings and outcomes 
• Provides extensive input via assigned templates and forms to prepare content for project summary reports; generates preliminary project summary reports and submits for approval by all members of the project team 
• Prepare service reports/field work orders in accordance with guidelines 

Basic Qualifications: 
• Associates degree and 3 years’ experience; or Bachelors’ degree in a technical / scientific field. An Engineering Degree is preferred (with emphasis on Mechanical Engineering), however other technical degrees will be considered; or 5 years of combustion engineering experience. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
• Able to work independently with little supervision. 
• High degree of customer focus in a fast-paced environment. 
• Proven knowledge in one or more areas of Honeywell Thermal Solutions product/applications focus. 
• Knowledge of industrial combustion/process heating applications 
• Good organizational, decision making, planning and project management skills are necessary in order to drive appropriate actions and execute on projects to meet customer expectations. 
• Experience with MRP systems (such as JD Edwards, Winman or SAP) a plus. 
• Solid computer skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). 
• Technically strong and ability to engage and develop positive relationships with customer manufacturing/engineering/technical organization and decision-makers 
• Team focused with strong interpersonal skills 
• Results oriented with a willingness to work extended hours to meet project deadlines. 
Special Considerations: Lifting will exceed 30 Lbs. and/or repetitions of this or lesser weights will be significant. Exposure to substantial machine, chemical, biological or other physical risks are anticipated.
