Senior Tech Support Associate

Description:
PDS TECH INC. is seeking a Senior Tech Support Associate, in Indianapolis, IN.

Job Description:

  • Performs a wide variety of technical tasks in the production/test environment.
  • Tests, troubleshoots, repairs, maintains and installs a wide variety of electronic and electromechanical assemblies.
  • May assist in the development of procedures.
  • Selects, sets up and operates engineering and scientific equipment.
  • Observes, analyzes and reports test data; and when appropriate makes necessary repairs to equipment.
  • Utilizes various engineering and scientific drawings, manuals and other related documentation in the performance of their tasks.
  • Checks for work correctness.
  • May assist in directing work, assigning and outlining tasks.

What are the main functions of this role:

  • Under Limited supervision performs a wide variety of technical efforts including processes, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs RF equipment.
  • Performs tests and utilizes various engineering drawings, manuals and other related documentation in the performance of their tasks.
  • May also work on Analog, Digital and High Voltage circuits as well.
  • Observes, analyzes and reports test data.
  • Performs tests and utilizes various engineering drawings, manuals and other related documentation in the performance of their tasks

Requirements:
  •  4-6 Year Experience testing RF circuitry.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings to perform measurements and troubleshoot electronic equipment.
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome technical challenges.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience using a wide variety of electronic RF/Analog, High Voltage, Digital and other electronic test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers and Power Meters.
  • Familiarity in these testing areas is recommended:
  • Insertion Loss, VSWR, Phase, gain, amplifiers, crystal detector circuits for fault monitoring, Analog to digital conversion, Up converting / Downconverting, Crystal/ SAW Oscillating, Multipliers, S-band, L-band and X-Band frequencies
  • Primarily an independent contributor, but there are times where working in a collaborative team environment is required

Desired Skill Sets:

  • Previous experience working in a depot on military hardware
  • Required Skill Sets:
  • Working with high-level test equipment to troubleshoot electrical issues to a component level,
  • Ability to think outside the box,
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office/ computers,
  • Experience with RF, Ability to multitask

Education Level Required:

  • High School (minimum) with previous military experience and/or secondary training

Years of Experience Required (if any):

  • 2-4 years minimum

  • Yes
