Electro/Mechanical Lab Technician

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking an Electro/Mechanical Lab Technician, in Indianola, PA.


This is an entry level role working under the supervision of a laboratory manager, engineers and/or senior level technicians to conduct testing, document results and perform various laboratory functions. 

Position Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Detail oriented individual with the capability to execute formal test protocols along with the ability to document detailed test results in support of advanced development, New Product Development, Quality, Life Cycle, and Product Supply functions. 
  • Lead/assist in prototype device assembly, troubleshoot and test execution (including design element, verification and validation) across informatics, software/computer-based electro-mechanical and informatics-based portfolio. 
  • Support design, verification, and validation engineering teams in testing devices to determine if requirements are being met. 
  • Operate various laboratory tools and equipment including environmental chambers, tensile/compressive load test equipment (i.e. Instrons) RF chamber, LabVIEW, computer-based test equipment and robotic testers along with basic hand tools. 
  • Constantly focus on quality system compliance and maintain an audit ready laboratory environment to satisfy applicable regulations, quality system process compliance, safety metrics and various test standards. 
  • Assist in laboratory equipment and tool maintenance, repairs, calibrations, upgrades, replacements and retirements as needed. 

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • High School Diploma 

Education Preferred:

  • Associates Degree 

Skills & Competency Requirements:

  • 1 year of relevant experience 
  • Possesses the analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical problems. 
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly 
  • Knowledge of how to repair, rework, and calibrate specific assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances. 
  • Knowledge of use of test instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters, etc. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication along with good interpersonal skills, including ability to manage confidential information.
