Accounting Analyst (Contract)

Description:

Position Summary: The Accounting Analyst position reports directly to the Accounting Manager (solid line). In this role, he/she is responsible for coordinating assigned accounting activities for all Airbus Americas subsidiaries, working closely with the controllers and the Finance stakeholders. He/she will be exposed to the Head of Accounting on dedicated activities. The incumbent will be responsible for the Accounting activities for four Legal Entities for Airbus Commercial Division.

The jobholder will interface with the Treasury department, Financial Systems, Controllers, Tax department and relevant teams within Group Finance. He or She will ensure accuracy of bank transactions and related clearings in liaison with responsible teams, along with other G/L Accounting tasks in compliance with IFRS rules and US GAAP when applicable as well as the Airbus Group Accounting Manual.

In addition to the required financial skills, the candidate will need excellent analytical and communication skills, proficiency with Airbus financial systems and be customer oriented.

The jobholder will contribute to monthly/quarterly/annual closing process for Airbus Americas entities:

 

  • Anticipate ad hoc support Monthly and Annual Close Process with functions & program controllers

  • Ensure Data Accuracy and high-quality Airbus Americas G/L and cost centers closing (i.e. accruals bookings, allocation cycles, etc.)

  • Bank accounting: Secure compliance on the bank and transitory Account Reconciliations in addition to other assigned accounts

  • Contribute to the improvement of the closing process in coordination with accounting managers, financial system department and relevant stakeholders

  • Support month-end analysis on the financial statements including balance sheet and profit and loss statement by implementing quality checks and controls on the financial data,

  • He or she will support the Internal and External Auditors.

  • Be a key partner for program and functions controllers by supporting improvement initiatives and deep dive analysis of the accounts

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Bank Accounting: 40%

  • Review daily bank uploads on SAP and check for completeness. In case of any discrepancies, liaise with local and global treasury teams to reach a solution quickly especially during period closes.

  • Clear all transitory accounts and be a focal point for teams working on related transactions: Airbus Global Business Services, AP, Payroll.

  • Ensure compliance to all internal and external regulations when processing transitory account clearings

  • Coordinate with the Treasury to ensure compliance, accuracy and timely of the Treasury operations and transactions.

 

  1. Financial reporting & GL Accounting: 40%

  • Work with accounting manager on miscellaneous month-end postings and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Support monthly close by working closely with the controlling team and advice on corrections to ensure deadlines are met and provide support as needed.

  • Assist in the preparation of Financial statements for all entities (Consolidated TB, B/S, P&L, Cash Flow statements) in conformity with IFRS and GAAP.

  • Support the accounting manager and staff, controlling and tax department on regular activities and exceptional: Annual audit, transfer pricing study, tax PBC, valuation studies, etc.)

  • Support accounting close meetings by maintaining calendar invites and helping with gathering feedback for presentation slides

  • Perform the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary.

  • Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, fixed assets, employer's benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses.

  • Collaborate with Multi-Functional Teams (Tax, treasury, controllers, financial systems) to identify opportunities to improve and standardize intercompany closing process (i.e. by automating manual processes and reducing errors to produce high quality reports)

  • Support the Accounting Manager and other Finance department teams in ad hoc projects (surveys, etc.)

 

  1. Project Management: 20%

  • Ensure implementation of SAP system enhancements and other financial tools that enhance operational effectiveness

  • Ensure implementation compliance, segregation of duties and internal controls rules

  • Support the Head of Accounting and other Finance departments in special projects such as Legal Entity Optimization....

 

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • Working towards Bachelor (or Masters preferable) in Business Administration, Accounting skills, and Finance, or related field AND 2+ years accounting or finance experience

  • Proficient in IFRS/ US GAAP preferred

  • Good knowledge of SAP modules & or similar ERP environment (preferred)

Experience:

  • Two (2) years or more of experience in finance, auditing and/or accounting in a commercial or industrial environment involving tight deadlines.

  • Must be extremely accurate and demonstrate attention to detail and be deadline oriented.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Promote speak-up culture

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Google

Travel Required:

  • 10 % Domestic and International

Pay Details: $33.00 to $36.00 PER HOUR
