Location: Morrisville, NC

Description:
Develops and evaluates new technologies or methods (mechanics hydraulics algorithms software etc.) Plans and executes engineering work for product validation and verification of significant parts of major projects or complete projects with well defined objectives. Responsible for problem identification and resolution corrective action tracking reliability analysis and verification/validation test plan development. Is a member of a product/project team. Provides guidance on test procedures to engineers and support personnel.

Duties:
Designs schedules and performs field and/or lab tests to validate new product designs. Analyzes complex test data draws conclusions and summarizes reports acting as liaison between the Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) dept and product engineering. Performs analyses of customer data (i.e. warranty Dealer Technical Assistance Center (DTAC) customer satisfaction surveys Early Detection Problem Resolution (EDPR)). Plans and performs analytical and experimental work to obtain undefined operating loads and/or develop new test procedures. Gives work direction to test operators. Assists in developing and coordinating changes to product definition documents. Coordinates problem identification activities and tracks corrective action progress.

Specific Position Requirements:
Performs software functional tests by manually following test instructions and running automated tests. Uses basic troubleshooting skills to identify root cause of test failures. Accumulates and reports test results to Software Engineers and assists them in determining reason for failures. Provides improvement suggestions for the software functional test to Software Engineers. Writes basic scripts for automated software functional tests given manual software functional tests and variables defining inputs and outputs.

Responsibilities:
- Accountable for verification test execution on Hardware in the Loop testing
- Test traceability to requirements (linking a test to a requirement using defined methods)
- Provide necessary data to track metrics defined by the Software Performance Engineer
- Assists with manual tasks for test stand setup (i.e. load box wiring, harness creation, troubleshooting, etc.)

Requirements:
- Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
- Proficiency with digital multimeter, oscilloscope, and function generator
- Understanding of AC and DC circuits
- Basic wiring skills
- Solder, crimping, electrical components
- Basic mechanical skills
- Hand tools, power tools
- Software: Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, Python or similar programming language
- CAN communication knowledge
- Positive Attitude, Honest and a Good Attendance Record
- Good written and oral communication skills.
