Project Engineer - High Lift Systems

Currently looking for an experienced Project Engineer - High Lift Systems to fill an opening on a new aircraft project located in Rockford, IL. Interested candidates should preferably have 10+ years of experience in High Lift Systems (Flight Control Systems), especially, QT activities.

Responsibilities of the Project Engineer - High Lift Systems

Support Supplier Integration Team activities as a project engineer of Mechanical System Design Group for High Lift Systems for a new regional jet aircraft program.
Represent in a technical capacity and provide support for compliance test witnessing at partner/supplier sites and test Laboratory locations within U.S.
Provide Qualification and Partner Liaison Coordination Support for Flight Control Systems (High Lift Systems) components.
Develop and review Qualification Test Plans and Procedures jointly with Supplier for DO-160 and other tests, Review Qualification Test Reports, Similarity and Analysis reports.
Witness tests as a ‘Test Director” and report on environmental, functional and performance qualification test completion and results in accordance with engineering and quality processes and standards.
Provide support for test schedule development and tracking metrics and test coordination.
Provide support for component qualification technical issue resolution and tracking.
Prepare and issue agenda and status report of test activity.
Provide support for generation of Test Witness Record (TWR) when Regulatory Agency representatives from JCAB, FAA, EASA or Certifying Staff are present.
Provide support for Test Procedure deviation documentation as needed during test support.
Provide support for component qualification document deliverables tracking.
Support test failure case disposition/resolution and article tear down witness and reporting activities at supplier sites as required by technical teams.


10+ years of experience in High Lift Systems (Flight Control Systems), especially, QT activities preferred.
Must have experience with life cycle development, test and qualification and certification documentation (QP, QTP, QTR, QSAR) of Electro Mechanical and hydraulically powered Equipment
Willingness to work long hours when requested by the Lead/Manager to support program needs.
Must have a positive, proactive attitude, and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary work culture.
Be willing to learn, appreciate, and blend into Japanese work and business culture.
Must be able to travel as required to head office in Nagoya, Japan and Moses Lake Flight Test Center in Washington State as well as Supplier/Partner sites in U.S. to support test witnessing, component conformity inspections, workshops and technical interchange meetings.
