Program Manager - Propulsion System

This position is located in Nagoya, Japan.

Designated Engine and Software Engineering Manager for Propulsion System Team, Aircraft Integration Department, Engineering Division
The responsible Engineer will work and lead activities of the Engine and Software. This will include interfacing with other aircraft functions and engineering teams to coordinate and obtain the approval of any task assigned contributing to the aircraft Engine and FADEC Software. This role requires interface with multiple suppliers and integration of the aforementioned systems to the aircraft;

Scope of Work:
  1. This Manager will work as a team member of Unit 3 (Propulsion).
  2. Basic work scope is to develop and finalize MRJ-200 (MRJ-90) T/C design, compliant to all applicable Engine and Software activities.
  3. This activity includes;
    1. Evaluating the current aircraft design, with respect to compliance to the Engine and Software related airworthiness regulations of JCAB, FAA and EASA.
    2. Coordinating integration of design change activities originated from Powerplant and Fuel System requirements when required,
    3. Presenting and discussing the Engine and Software compliance with the Transport Authorities.
    4. Leading verification and showing-compliance activities, such as Ground and Flight Tests, Design Reviews, Inspections, Analysis, etc.
    5. Managing aspects of Software verification of FADEC integration
    6. Overseeing integration of 14 CFR Part 33 compliance for meeting of the Aircraft (14 CFR Part 25) certification requirements.
    7. Managing the relationship of the department with the Engine supplier and tracking the activities of the Engine supplier to ensure timely certification and integration into the aircraft.
    8. Oversight of Systems Safety, Avionics, Electrical, Mechanical Systems and other departments’ integration and inputs and outputs for FADEC integration.

  4. All tasks required to perform above activities are considered within work scope; initiating/ reviewing related documents, technical calculation, interface discussion with the team members and all the other stakeholders including systems, structures, manufacturing, customer support, and partners.
  5. Lead and Determine methods of compliance for Engine Integration and Software compliance activities and work with suppliers and unit members to establish the consensus best practice for system final design and certification.
  6. Education of MITAC members about professional knowledge on the Engine Integration and Software.
  7. Manage the technical contract requirements with applicable Engine Integration and Software suppliers and other interfacing suppliers as appropriate.
  8. Provide expertize to assist in resolving the Engine Integration and Software performance during any rig testing or Flight testing.

  • 10+ years experience 
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • International experience desirable. 
  • Must be able to stay in Japan a minimum of 3-5 years or until final certification.
