Manufacturing Engineer- Solidworks

Description:
Job Responsibilities
•Reviews engineering designs to provide tooling, equipment, operation sequence, and other technical wherewithal to enable marine craft and land vehicles to be manufactured profitably.
•Seeks alternative manufacturing strategies to reduce production costs, increase output, or improve product quality.
•Analyzes engineering design to provide feedback to improve manufacturability of components and assemblies.
•Calculates labor hour and learning curve projections for new manufacturing programs.
•Oversees creation and maintenance of Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) to break engineering product structure into logical manufacturing units and sequence to enable MRP order releasing, scheduling, and purchasing activities.
•Authors and maintains shop floor technical work instructions.
•Participates in Root Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA) activities to troubleshoot and prevent production defects.
•Ensures manufacturing processes and procedures comply with regulatory and contractual obligations.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:
•Experience in shipbuilding, marine small craft, aluminum and steel welding, or construction of large fabricated assemblies is desired.
•Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software and Solidworks or other 3D CAD programs is desired.
•Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
•Must possess effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
•Applicants are expected to have the ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

Education Requirements: •Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred degrees are Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Marine Engineering.
•Preferred years of experience per level: ◦Manufacturing Engineer: 2-6 years
◦Sr Manufacturing Engineer: 6-10 years.
◦Note: Level will be determined based on relevant experience, scope of role, reporting structure and management’s discretion
