Temporary Specialist Electrical Engineer

Description:
seeking a Temporary Specialist Electrical Engineer for an opening in Canoga Park, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Responsibilities include but not limited to develop space craft electrical power system, support integration activities of multiple PPUs, perform analysis support of system stability, and provide worst case circuit analysis support We are looking for a senior electrical engineer to work in our team to develop state of the art power electronics for spacecraft electric propulsion and high power systems. Contribute to the ongoing innovation to modernize, commercialize, modularize, and reduce mass, cost, and complexity. Great communication skills, technical innovation, depth, breadth, and passion will enable you to work effectively with cross functional (electrical, mechanical, software, system, test) product development teams. You will work on all phases of product development from proposal/concept/simulation/feasibility to design, test, production, and follow on support. You will work with major space contractors participating in space exploration and in commercial space activities.
Work within a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, software, system, project, test, and other engineers to perform the following:

10% Lead and perform proposals, feasibility studies, trade studies, and proof of concept work on complex electronics. These tasks may have immediate as well and future project and program impact.
40% Perform detailed circuit analysis, simulation, component stress analysis, and worst case analysis on complex circuits and systems.
10% Create schematics and oversee circuit board layout.
20% Bring up, verify, and debug circuits.
10% Develop and execute test plans.
10% Develop process improvements to improve effectiveness of the discipline and provide training/mentoring/guidance to other engineers to raise the level of competency of the organization.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Must be self-starter with proven record of performance doing design work. Prior experience as a technical lead is desired.
Previous avionics design hands on experience and knowledge specifically of power supply topologies and magnetics design is strongly preferred.

Previous experience in a high reliability or highly regulated industry such as medical, or nuclear industries is preferred. A demonstrated understanding of DoD/NASA engineering processes, materials, analysis and manufacturing is preferred.

Must possess strong technical writing and effective presentation skills.

Experience with Rocket Engines and Space Rated Avionics components and systems are a plus.

Prior experience driving innovation solutions to technical problems is desired.

Specific experience in advanced, high power, electronic power conversion and related designs is must.

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering and minimum 10 years of hands on power electronics experience, or Master of Science degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering and minimum 7 years of hands on power electronics experience.
