Cloud & Automation Engineer

Location: Savannah, GA
Pay Rate: $50.65/hr - $56.28/hr
Duration: Long Term W2 Contract
**MUST be a U.S. CITIZEN, PERMANENT RESIDENT, OR TN VISA HOLDER**

Position Purpose:
-The Cloud Automation Engineer will serve the vital lead role in automating and driving implementation of cloud solutions, and lead key critical components of the ramp up of cloud services.
-The qualified candidate is expected to have deep technical knowledge of automating cloud services, which has been developed from previous experience in deploying such solutions in production environments.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or technology related field or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
-Three (3) years experience in IT related field with 2 years of VShpere/ ESXi/AWS/ Openstack/ Azure/GCP. Other CCNA and MCP certification preferred.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
1. Implement infrastructure as code for various cloud platforms, from planned architectures
2. Implement monitoring and logging solutions for different technology stacks or container orchestration platforms
3. Implement Continuous Delivery solutions and helping customers automate various stages of their deployments and testing processes
4. Have general cloud ops knowledge with at least one provider, private or public, such as attached volume lifecycle, auto scaling, cloud-config, security, instance lifecycle, etc Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
1. Experience working on or leading teams performing systems automation and integration (ideally leveraging an agile methodology / lean techniques).
2. Competence in using scripting + programming languages to automate frequently executed activities.
3. Expert knowledge of Linux / Unix / Windows systems.
4. Experience with Jenkins, Hudson, Bamboo, TeamCity, and other Continuous Integration tools.
5. Experience with production systems and dealing with production issues.
6. A clear understanding of cloud service and deployment model.
7. Expert in Chef, Chef Server, Chef Provisioning, Test Kitchen, VMware vRealize Automation. 8. Responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining automation tools to reduce time and complexity of operations and development tasks.
9. Collaborate with others to troubleshoot and resolve escalated production issues.
10. Establish and consult on best practices and standard operating procedures for development, deployment, support, break-fix, and systems management.
11. Deploy and support automation systems and tooling in a 24x7 production environment.
12. Assess usage and utilization trends to make appropriate design and implementation recommendations towards scaling our architecture.
13. Writing and maintaining software build systems and supporting tools (Continuous Integration, Packaging, Deployment).
14. Background with CI/CD tools: Nexus, Git/Stash, Jenkins, VMWare vRealize Automation (or VCD), Packer, Vagrant, Docker, Sonar, Test Kitchen.
15. Scripting Proficiency in PowerShell, Ruby, Python, Perl or other.
