Electrical Engineer

Description:
SUMMARY
Performs a variety of engineering work including design, analysis, substantiation, certification, drawing interpretation and project management as related to transport category aircraft.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create step by step work instructions for the removal and installation of hardware and components as they relate to aircraft structures, systems, interiors and avionics. Troubleshooting of noted aircraft systems Repair, design and analysis of metal, composite and metal bond structures Knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations FARs from Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations as they apply to transport category aircraft. Knowledge of cabin specific regulatory requirements, including flammability and crashworthiness as examples Familiarity with the Supplemental Type Certificate STC process Familiarity with the FAA Airworthiness Directive AD process and rules governing disposition Translates guidance and engineering principles and procedures into usable working direction for assigned projects Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, preferably those created by Boeing, Airbus and Douglas. They should also be familiar with the documents needed to routinely maintain commercial aircraft Structural Repair Manual SRM, Aircraft Maintenance Manual AMM, Illustrated Parts Catalog IPC, etc. Ability to analyze Original Equipment Manufacturer OEM source documents Service Bulletins, Service Letters, etc. and make independent decisions based on analysis of available data regarding incorporation on Customers fleet. Ability to quickly learn and adhere to Operators specific processes and procedures. Project Management skills multiple task Gathers, coordinates and applies basic engineering data using established and appropriate or defined engineering principles and procedures Applies area of specialty to design, develop and implement creative and innovative solutions to difficult problems Reviews progress with management and recommends corrective action along with review of alternatives Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct ensures adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities Travel as required All other duties as assigned.
