Job Description

Responsibilities:

Support flight test instrumentation test objectives and flight test activities listed below -
• Design, implement, and maintain instrumentation Airborne Data Acquisition Systems (ADAS)
• Provide direction to Flight Test Instrumentation Technicians, Electricians, Mechanics
• Collaborate with internal disciplines, including Flight Test Hardware Integration Engineers, Flight Test Engineers, Flight Technology, Instrumentation Labs, Standards and Calibration, Aircraft Coordinators, etc.,
• Generate and update electrical drawings through CAD software
• Adhere to flight test policies and procedures to ensure quality and safe data acquisition and operations

Skills:
• Knowledge in the following instrumentation sensor applications: strain gages, accelerometers, pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, pitot-static systems, etc.,
• Familiarity with following bus formats: 1553-B, ARINC-429, RS-232/422/485 Understanding Aircraft Structures, systems, and assemblies
• Familiarity with airborne data acquisition systems (Teletronics, Zodiac, Quasonix equipment a plus)
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Draftsight, or equivalent software for creating, modifying or updating electrical drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Project)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Primary System Environments:

AutoCAD, Draftsight or equivalent

Education: B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering
Years of Experience: Aerospace/Defense – 5-10 years related experience.
Citizenship: US citizen
