Mechanical Engineer

Description:
A Mechanical Engineer job in San Diego, CA is currently available through Belcan. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expertise in developing, designing, and testing aerospace composites and mechanical products to meet stringent requirements and specifications. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 3-5 years of relevant experience in the Aerospace industry experience along with Composites experience. Mechanical Engineer Job duties:

* Provides extended expertise in the design, development and testing of mechanical components
* Participates in engineering activities to define product requirements, create designs, perform simulation testing and validation of final hardware components
* Performs mechanical component development and integration, while using Computer-Aided-Design concepts
* Works as part of the Mechanical Engineering Team to meet high level of engineering standards per design specifications
* Uses existing procedures to solve a range of problems; analyzes information and standard practices to make judgments
* Solves a variety of mechanical engineering issues and improves existing designs
* Improve and implement composite manufacturing processes
* Performs value analysis during the product design phase while optimizing product development costs

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 3-5 years of relevant experience in the Aerospace industry experience along with Composites experience.
* Excellent ability to apply a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving.
* Strong knowledge of CAD and 3D modeling.
* Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems.
* Good knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering (mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis and electricity).
* Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
* Prior experience with CREO highly preferred
* Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
* Experience with composite design and manufacturing processes
